Dark Star dragon fruit has a large-sized purple-fleshed fruit that weighs at 2 pounds. The fruit has a mild grape-like flavor that has an average brix rating of 20 which is insanely sweet. The skin of the fruit has a darker pink tint to it where it could have possibly received its name. Dark Star was the S9 seedling that was initially created by Paul Thomson and mentioned in his book Pitahaya. Paul mentions this variety having split lobe stigma and this is unique compared to its siblings Cosmic Charle, Physical Graffiti and Purple Haze. Dark Star is one of the MUST-HAVE dragon fruit varieties for every household, it is a high producer also the plant grows well in both summer and winter.
